Pallet Rack Shelving
Pallet rack shelving is undisputedly
very useful in businesses that involve handling of massive inventories.
It allows you to expand the surface area of your storage by converting
the spaces above your head into another storage layer. Pallet rack shelvings make it possible
to pile many pallets as high as the height of your actual warehouse.
So if you have ceiling that are 20 feet taller, you can stack pallets
as high as that and load tons of commodities without constructing a
new warehouse.
Aside from letting you pile high layers
of pallets, pallet rack shelving also serve as a means to evenly distribute
the weight of your pallet load. This makes the entire shelving
more stable and secured. Pallet rack shelving which is also called
as rack decking is available in different thickness and sizes. It can
be made from wire mesh construction that adds extra protection on the
stored commodities by preventing dirt, dust and rubbishes from accumulating
on the shelving.
Pallet rack shelving is available in different
styles: the so called waterfall shelving; reverse waterfall shelving;
and pop-in wire shelving or decking. In waterfall shelving, the wire
mesh is extended until the top and bottom part of front of the beam
to give more support; hence this is the most preferred shelving
of many warehouses.
Reverse waterfall shelving or decking has
a special feature that prevents loose materials from falling behind
the pallet rack system. Pop-in wire on the other hand is the shelving
that rests within the step of the beam.
Pallet rack shelving is frequently constructed
from wire mesh that can be penetrated by sprinkler systems once a fire
started in the warehouse. This makes wire mesh a more practical material
for rack shelving instead of solid metals. Lastly, rack shelving can
be used in many ways; they can be use together with commercial ladders,
pallet jacks with scales, teardrop pallet racks, utility carts and even
gas and electric pallet trucks.
